## Symptoms

- * Threat Emulation appliance 250XN fails to scan downloaded files.

* There are no emulation logs regarding pending or unknown verdicts for submitted files.

* When the user enables all available operating system images, emulation throughput drops to only one emulation at a time.

* Disabled virtual machine (VM) images remain in the emulation queue.

## Cause

The 250XN appliance supports a maximum of eight VMs for emulation. When all eight operating system images are enabled, each image occupies a separate VM. This results in the processing of only one emulation at a time.
For EXE file emulation, a dedicated VM is required because EXE files cannot share a VM.
