## Symptoms

- * Syslog data exported from the Check Point Security Management Server using Log Exporter does not include the log `Type` field (log, connection, session or control). No specific errors appear.

* SIEM solutions cannot classify logs by log type because the exported raw syslog does not contain the log `Type` field.

* Attempts to export the log `Type` field (using the *fieldsMapping.xml* or *targetConfiguration.xml*) files do not succeed.

## Cause

The log `Type` field does not exist in the raw log data that the Check Point Security Management Server generates.
The Log Indexer generates this field for display and filtering inside SmartConsole / SmartView.
Log Exporter uses raw "semi-unified logs" as the source. By design, the raw log does not contain the log `Type` field.
