## Symptoms

- * The Security Gateway blocks access to a specific domain or application.

* The application fails to load content (such as images, API calls, or files).

* Logs indicate that Web Control or the URL Filtering Blade block the connection with a category such as "High Risk," "Spyware / Malicious Sites," or similar.

* The same domain is accessible when bypassing the Security Gateway.

## Cause

In some scenarios, a domain might be accepted if its subdomain was categorized by the Security Gateway's local URL Filtering engine as "High Risk" or "Malicious." This can cause policy-based blocking.

Common causes include:

* Local rule base configuration or category overlap rather than a global ThreatCloud classification.

* Cached or outdated URL Categorization data.

* A subdomain being categorized differently from the parent domain.
