| Products | Security Management Server, SmartConsole, Cloud Firewall |
| Versions | R81.20, R81.20, R81.20 |
| OS | Gaia |

## Symptoms

- * The Security Management Server keeps trying to communicate with Microsoft Azure after Security Datacenter object deletion in SmartConsole.
* Connection attempts to Microsoft Azure appear continuously in the `cloud_proxy` log files.
* The log shows errors related to Azure deployment queries and scanner connection failures.

  Example log output:
`23/10/25 11:14:51,684 ERROR scanner.util.DcScannerUtils [scanner-Azure-1825513634]: Exception while connecting to [`]. Return connectivity problem. com.checkpoint.datacenter.util.exception.ConnectionException: Failed querying Azure, connection problem...

## Cause

A configuration file remains on the Security Management Server after the Cloud Datacenter object is deleted in SmartConsole. This file contains target configuration data for Microsoft Azure. The file is located at: `/opt/CPsuite-R81.20/fw1/conf/vsec_controller_targets_data.set`.

Because the file still exists, the Security Management Server continues trying to connect to Azure even though the Cloud Datacenter object is deleted.
