# sk184168 - Endpoint Client Fails to Update Anti-Malware (AM) Signatures on Linux

## Symptoms

- When attempting to update AM signatures, the following error appears on the endpoint:  

`[Expert@GW-1:0]# wget https://10.0.0.1:443/avsignatures/av3/linux.amd64.glibc.2.3.tar.gz --no-check-certificate`  
`Connecting to 10.0.0.1:443... connected.`  
`WARNING: cannot verify 10.0.0.1's certificate: Self-signed certificate encountered.`  
`WARNING: certificate common name 'MGMT-SERVER' doesn't match requested host name '10.0.0.1'.`  
`HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found`  
`ERROR 404: Not Found.`  
`PACKAGES_TO_DOWNLOAD=savi_win32.zip,savi_win64.zip,savmac-oem-package.tar,version.txt`

## Cause

Backup server is unreachable:  

1. The client first checks for updates on the local management server.
2. If no updates are available, it attempts to fetch updates from the backup server `teadv.checkpoint.com`.
3. In this case, the backup server is unreachable or returns a 404 error.
4. Additionally, if the connection is interrupted during the update, the AM updater may hang indefinitely.
