## Symptoms

- * Some Quantum Spark appliances display "Firmware is up to date" while others indicate a pending upgrade to a higher version.
* Appliances could be the same model and/or firmware version, yet the update status differs between devices.

## Cause

The inconsistent firmware upgrade status is due to a controlled, staged rollout of the firmware by Check Point. This approach allows the development team to monitor the rollout, collect feedback, and gradually increase deployment. Appliances not selected for the initial rollout continue to report the lower version as the latest version until the rollout percentage is increased. This process ensures stability and minimizes risk by avoiding simultaneous upgrades on all devices.
