## Symptoms

- * Error when trying to create a new Virtual System (VS) on the Maestro VSX Security Gateway with the SmartConsole wizard:

```
Checking connection with VSX
Initializing SIC of - xxx ...
SIC of xxx has been initialized
Creating Virtual System...
Generating VSX Configuration for xxx on yyy.
Pushing VSX Configuration to yyy.
yyy: processed 100% of configuration...
Failed to configure yyy with the following errors:
yyy... error :Virtual System cannot be created: Failed to create Virtual System directories
Virtual System Processing Completed with Errors
Pushing network configuration to Virtual System operation has finished with errors.
```
* The log file *$FWDIR/log/last_vsx_push_configuration.elg* on the management server shows the error:

```
vsenv: operation failed, specified Virtual System ID does not exist.
```
## Cause

A previously deleted Virtual System (VS) left residual locks on file descriptors. When a new VS attempts to reuse the same VSID, the creation fails.
