# sk183986 - SNMP Reports Unrealistic CPU Utilization on Quantum Security Gateways in UPPAK Mode

## Symptoms

- * SNMP monitoring tools report unrealistic CPU values (for example, 20477952%) for certain CPU cores. Example SNMP output:

  ```
  CPU 61 utilization: 20477952%
  CPU 22 utilization: 20477952%
  CPU 62 utilization: 20477952%
  ```

* Local diagnostics tools such as **cpview** and **top** show normal CPU utilization, even though third-party monitoring systems (for example, Zabbix) may alert for high CPU usage.
* The issue is intermittent and affects random cores.
* The problem persists even after updating the SNMP Object Identifier (OID) to the recommended Check Point-specific OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.6.7.5.1.5.X).

## Cause

The Security Gateway assigns placeholder values (`CP_VALUE_NOT_AVAILABLE = 10238976`) to `cpu_usr_time` and `cpu_sys_time` for certain cores.
This causes SNMP calculations for multi-processor usage to return unrealistic percentages.
The issue is more common on high-core Quantum Appliances running in UPPAK (User Plane Packet Acceleration Kit) mode when using the Check Point-specific Object Identifier (OID) *.1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.6.7.5.1.5.X*.
