# sk183971 - ERM ASM Asset Vulnerability Scan and Alerts

## Symptoms

## Cause

The **ERM ASM Asset Vulnerability** scan uses multiple tools to detect and validate open ports on assets. When an open port is detected, the system performs multiple non-intrusive TCP-only validations. Currently, UDP validations are not supported. If a UDP port is open, the system will run its normal TCP validation, which results in no response from the port. These ports are treated as Non-Responsive.

## Solution

Open Ports Not Being Detected
-----------------------------

To ensure you receive alerts for the Non-Responsive ports, set the alert config for **Exploitable Port on Company Server Detected** to not ignore Non-Responsive ports.  

**To receive alerts about unresponsive (UDP) ports:**

1. Log in to the Infinity ERM portal.
2. From the left navigation panel, go to **Account Settings** \> **Alerts Configuration.**
3. In the **Categories** section, expand **Vulnerabilities**.
4. Scroll-down to **Exploitable Ports** and turn on the **Exploitable Port on Company Server Detected** toggle button.

5. From the **Ignore Non-Responsive Ports** list, select **No**.

Changing Alert Configurations
-----------------------------

To manage and customize alert configurations, go to **Account Settings** \> **Alerts Configuration** .  

Zero-Day Vulnerability Reporting
--------------------------------

For **Zero-Day vulnerabilities** , the Infinity ERM is designed to detect and alert on relevant findings in real time and monitors newly published CVEs.  

* When a new CVE is released, ERM evaluates whether it applies to technologies within your environment.
* If relevant, the platform generates real-time alerts to ensure immediate visibility and action.
