# sk183812 - Excessive Kernel Log Messages: "adpsxl_rt6: rt is NULL"

## Symptoms

- * Repeated kernel log messages appear several times per minute in the */var/log/messages* file, for example:

  ```
  
  fw01 kernel:adpsxl_rt6: rt is NULL
  ```

* Log flooding occurs, making log analysis and troubleshooting difficult.

* The system continues to log messages after deleting unused ports and cleaning up routing configuration.

* Issue persists after rebooting the Security Gateway and installing previous R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator (JHF) versions up to Take 89.

## Cause

The kernel log message `adpsxl_rt6: rt is NULL` is generated when the *adpsxl_rt6* module attempts to process Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) routing but does not find a valid route (route is NULL).

This issue was traced to a missing default IPv6 route in the Security Gateway's routing table.

The absence of the default IPv6 route caused the kernel to repeatedly log the error, and log flooding persisted until both the code fix and the correct route configuration were applied.
