# sk183796 - "Invalid value. It must contain fewer than 257 characters, of this set: 0-9, A-Z, a-z or , . - : () @ + _ !" error when adding predefined service objects to a service object group in R81.10.15

## Symptoms

- * This error appears when you add some predefined service objects (such as AOL, GNUtella_rtr_UDP, ldap-ssl, MSSQL_resolver, RealSecure, sqlnet1, sqlnet2-1521, sqlnet2-1525, sqlnet2-1526, SWTP_Gateway, SWTP_SMS, wap_wdp, wap_wtp) to a Service Object Group:

  `Invalid value. It must contain fewer than 257 characters, of this set: 0-9, A-Z, a-z or , . - : () @ + _ !`
* The error can occur with various predefined service objects, including at least 14 known ones. It is not limited to AOL.

* Comments are not added to the service objects, but the error persists.

* Multiple error messages appear when you select all affected service objects.

## Cause

When you add certain predefined service objects, the system incorrectly flags valid objects as containing restricted or unsupported characters. This occurs even when no comments or special characters are present. As a result, the appliance prevents the creation of Service Object Groups with these objects and displays multiple error messages.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting from:

* [R81.10.17 for Quantum Spark Appliances](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk183153) (Build 4678)

After the upgrade:  

1. Add the previously affected predefined service objects to a Service Object Group.
2. Confirm that no error messages appear and that the group was created successfully
