## Symptoms

- * During policy installation on the Security Gateway, its BGP neighborship with peers changes from "Established" to "Idle" and then back to "Established".

* The `/var/log/routed_messages` file on the Security Gateway contains these lines during the incident:

  `[routed] NOTICE: bgp_peer_close(XXX): closing peer XXX [eBGP AS XXX (XXX)], state is 6 (Established)`  
  `
  [routed] WARNING: bgp_event: peer XXX [eBGP AS XXX (XXX)] old state Established event PingClose new state Idle`

## Cause

BGP connections may disconnect during / after policy installation.
