# sk183759 - Adding a cluster interface name to the $FWDIR/conf/discntd.if file removes the Cluster Virtual IP address from that interface

## Symptoms

- After adding an interface name to the `$FWDIR/conf/discntd.if` file on each Cluster Member, the "`cphaprob -a if`" command:

1. Shows this interface as "`Non-Monitored`"
2. Does not show anymore the Cluster Virtual IP address that was configured on that interface

## Cause

The `$FWDIR/conf/discntd.if` file on a Cluster Member forces it to ignore all interfaces in this file for any cluster operation, including the assignment of a Virtual IP Address (VIP).
