# sk183717 - Cannot boot a 19200 appliance from USB for R81.20 installation

## Symptoms

- * During a fresh installation of Gaia R81.20 on a Check Point 19200 Quantum Appliance, the device fails to boot from a USB flash drive.

* The appliance shows the following messages:

  `Checking Media Presence...`

  `No Media Present....`

  The appliance then continues to boot from its internal storage.
* The bootable USB was created with the latest ISOMorphic tool. The installation image and SHA256 checksum were verified as correct.

## Cause

The BIOS on the Check Point 19200 Quantum Appliance is password-protected by design. This security measure prevents unauthorized changes to the boot order and other BIOS settings.

Only Check Point Technical Assistance Center (TAC) can provide BIOS access in a controlled support session.
