# sk183713 - Gaia Backup / Scheduled Snapshot fails if it is configured to upload the output file to an SCP server or SFTP server

## Symptoms

- * Gaia Backup / Scheduled Snapshot fails if it is configured to upload the output file to an SCP server or SFTP server.

* Manual SSH connection from the Gaia OS to the SCP server fails with this message:

  `Permission denied, please try again`

## Cause

The OpenSSH version that the Gaia OS uses is lower than the SCP / SFTP server is configured to support.

In the reported case (August 2025), the customer's SCP server supported OpenSSH version 9 and higher.

To see the OpenSSH version that the Gaia OS uses, run one of these commands in the Expert mode:

* `ssh -V`

* `rpm -qa | grep -i openssh`
