# sk183695 - Threat Extraction "Subscription is about to expire" error in SmartConsole despite valid subscription

## Symptoms

- * Threat Extraction "*Subscription is about to expire* " error in SmartConsole despite valid subscription.

* Expiry date of the Threat Extraction license is correct, both in SmartConsole and when running `cplic print -x | grep TEX` on the Security Gateway.

* The error message also appears after debugging with the status collection script described in [sk170358 - Status collection Script for R8x.](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk170358)

* Rebooting the Security Management Server and the Security Gateway does not resolve the issue.

* When running the `cpstat os -f licensing` command on the Security Gateway, the output shows the blade as licensed, with the date matching the date in the `cplic print -x` output.

* All the old licenses are deleted.

## Cause

The process on the Security Gateway which calculates the license expiry date is stuck.
