# sk183688 - Security Gateway / Management Server / Log Server receives broadcast packets sent to 255.255.255.255 to the UDP port 8116

## Symptoms

- A Security Gateway (not part of a any cluster) / Management Server / Log Server receives these packets on one of its interfaces:

1. Source IP address = 0.0.0.0
2. Source port = 8116
3. Destination IP address = 255.255.255.255
4. Destination port = 8116
5. Protocol = UDP

## Cause

One of the interfaces of a Check Point ElasticXL Cluster is connected to the same network segment as the interface of the Security Gateway (not part of a any cluster) / Management Server / Log Server that receives these packets.

In an ElasticXL Cluster, the Cluster Control Protocol (CCP) works in the broadcast mode - each ElasticXL Cluster Member sends the CCP packets from each cluster interface, including the "Management" interfaces.

As a result, any device in the same broadcast domain will receive these CCP packets.
