# sk183654 - Gaia API show-static-routes displays phantom default route after deleting default route

| Property | Value |
|----------|-------|
| Solution ID | sk183654 |
| Date Created | 2025-07-14 |
| Last Modified | 2025-07-16 |
| Technical Level | Advanced |
| Products | Security Gateway |
| Versions | R82, R81.20 |
| OS | Gaia |

## Symptoms

- * When retrieving static routes using the Gaia API `show-static-routes` or the Ansible module `cp_gaia_static_route_facts`, a default route (`0.0.0.0/0`) appears with the type set to `None`.
* Running the Clish command `show configuration static-route` confirms that no default static route is currently configured.
* The `/config/active` file contains these entries:
  `routed:instance:default:static:default t`
  `
  routed:instance:default:static:default:gateway t`

## Cause

The default route persists in the configuration database if only the next-hop gateway is disabled, but the default route itself is not explicitly deleted.
