# sk183619 - High Latency of HTTP & HTTPs traffic with "javacore" process crash in Private ThreatCloud (PTC)

## Symptoms

- * The Private ThreatCloud (PTC) component reports an alert in the ptcd.html report for the Anti-Bot and Anti-Virus Software Blades with the message: "*The system doesn't work properly*".

* Users experience network latency and delays in HTTP and HTTPS traffic inspection.

* The issue temporarily resolves after rebooting PTC, but it returns after a period of time.

* CPU utilization on the PTC server spikes to 100% on java process, as shown by this top command:

* "javacore" user-mode core dumps are generated on the PTC server.

* ptc_cli monitor returned an internal error.

* In */var/cptomcat-6.0.18/logs/ptcd.log* we see this error:   

  \[ERROR\] "*failed to get java melody stats*"

## Cause

The issue appears in high-load environments and leads to resource exhaustion in the Java process of the PTC component. This results in service degradation and component failure.

## Solution

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.  
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:

1. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Management Server involved in the case.
2. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member / Security Group involved in the case.
