# sk183616 - Identity Awareness login fails, PDP logs show "pdp::UserWithDomainWrapper::Init: user name len is bigger than max of: 512"

## Symptoms

- * Users cannot access resources located behind an Identity Awareness Gateway.
* The Identity Awareness Gateway does not assign Access Roles to users as expected.
* On the CLI of the Policy Decision Point (PDP) Gateway, the log file *$FWDIR/log/pdpd.elg* contain this error message: pdp::UserWithDomainWrapper::Init: user name len is bigger than max of: 512

## Cause

Identity Awareness enforces a maximum username length of 512 bytes. When this threshold is exceeded, login operations fail, and Access Role mapping is disrupted.
