# sk183606 - Identity Agent fails to connect to Security Gateway

## Symptoms

- * Identity Agent for a Terminal Server or Identity Agent for an endpoint computer fails to connect to an Identity Awareness Gateway.
* On the Terminal Server or endpoint computer, the *ia_client* logs show: *400 Bad Request* . On a Terminal Server or Windows endpoint computer, the default location of these logs is *C:\\Windows\\Temp\\ia_client.log*.

## Cause

The Identity Agent access configuration allows only specific interfaces (for example 'internal'), while the Identity Agent is trying to connect through an external interface.
