# sk183553 - After rebooting a Security Appliance in a Maestro Security Group configured in the VSX mode, it does not come online

## Symptoms

- * After rebooting a Security Appliance in a Maestro Security Group, it does not come online.

* When connected to the console port on the problematic Security Appliance, the output shows this line repeatedly:

  `cp_set_process_vs_affinity: Error corrupt affinity file`
* The `/var/log/smartd.log` file contains this line repeatedly (while booted into the Maintenance Mode):

  `res=0, stdout=jsont: cp_set_process_vs_affinity: Error corrupt affinity file`
* Reverting to a previous Gaia snapshot or restoring to factory defaults on the problematic Security Appliance may resolve the issue.

## Cause

1. The VSX affinity configuration file (`cp_set_process_vs_affinity`) is corrupted. The Gaia OS uses this file for assignment of CPU cores to Virtual Systems.

2. The corrupted VSX affinity configuration file prevents the Gaia OS to load the `/etc/smodb.json` file, which stores the Security Group configuration.
