## Cause

The `dde.pyc` file is a compiled Python script used by the Office file extractor module in the Threat Emulation engine. The `dde.pyc` file identifies DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) links in Office documents. DDE links can refer to external content or enable real-time data exchange between documents. The detection of the `dde.pyc` file as malicious is a false positive.
