## Symptoms

- * The Security Gateway experiences reduced bandwidth on a newly added network interface when a new network interface card (NIC) is added while the Gateway is online.

* The affected interface shows limited throughput between 5 and 10 Mbps.

## Cause

Adding a network interface while the Security Gateway is powered on causes system instability. This behavior results from an unsupported configuration change during runtime.

## Solution

No fix is required. This behavior is by design.

Power off the Security Gateway before adding a network interface card.
