## Symptoms

- When a new Security Appliance joined ElasticXL, traffic outage occurred on the Management network (to which the appliance's "Mgmt" port is connected).

## Cause

A Clean Install with CPUSE was performed on the **new** Security Appliance. The IP address that was assigned to the Management interface on the new Security Appliance is the same IP address that is currently assigned to the SMO Security Group Member. As a result, the same IP address appears on the Management network on different Security Appliances.

This situation can occur when a major version is installed on a Security Appliance using CPUSE and not from a USB device or from a PXE server.
