# sk183347 - Threat Extraction converts files to PDF although the "Convert to PDF" option is not selected

## Symptoms

- Threat Extraction converts files to PDF although the **Convert to PDF** option is not selected.

## Cause

The extraction method which is configured in Threat Extraction is **Extract potentially malicious parts from files**. In some scenarios, when Threat Extraction fails to clear the file, it tries to convert the file to PDF.
