# sk183316 - "No Global Router ID configured" error when configuring OSPF peers in Gaia OS after an upgrade to R81.10 or higher

## Symptoms

- * "`No Global Router ID configured. Please configure the same Global Router ID on all cluster members. If OSPF is already configured, first remove the configuration.`" error in Gaia Portal / Gaia Clish when configuring OSPF peers.

* The OSPF Global Settings are set to default values.

* This issue started after upgrading the cluster to the version R81.10 or higher.

## Cause

In the versions R81 and lower, it is possible to configure OSPF peers without explicitly setting an OSPF Global Router ID in a cluster, but this is not recommended.

Starting in the version R81.10, the requirement to configure an OSPF Global Router ID explicitly in a cluster is by design to enforce best practices and ensure stable operation.
