Background
----------

This guide helps customers deploy the Check Point **1595****R** **5G** Rugged Firewall Security Gateway from Verizon on the Verizon Wireless network.

It covers initial activation but does not include detailed device configuration, security policy settings, or customizations for specific environments. For advanced configuration, see the **Additional References** section.

Initial Activation
------------------

**Step 1: Unbox and Prepare the Appliance**

1. Open the shipping container and remove the Check Point **1595** **R** **5G** Rugged Firewall appliance.
2. Place it on a stable surface.

**Step 2: Attach Antennas**

1. Connect the four (x4) cellular/5G antennas to the designated locations on the appliance. The appliance chassis is clearly marked where the antennas need to be installed.

**Step 3: Power-On the Device**

1. Connect the power cord to a valid AC power source and to the AC power adapter.
2. Plug the power cord into an AC power source. The appliance will automatically start the boot process. It will take several minutes for the appliance to initialize.

**Step 4: Establish Verizon Network Connection**

1. The appliance includes a preinstalled Verizon 5G SIM card and automatically connects to the Verizon Wireless network using cellular as the WAN connection.
2. If the connection fails:
   1. Verify the SIM card is properly seated.
   2. Ensure Verizon service is activated.
   3. Restart the appliance and check connectivity again.

**Step 5: Access the Web Interface**

1. Connect your computer to port LAN-1 of the Spark Firewall 1595R5G.
2. Open a web browser and go to <https://192.168.1.1:4434>.
3. Log in with the credentials listed below:
   1. Username: **sparkadmin**
   2. Password: **0$p@rkGwVz#1**

**Your** **Check Point 1595R5G Rugged Firewall** **Security Gateway is now activated!**

**Important Steps**

At a minimum, please be sure to review and configure the following items as appropriate:

* **Device Administrator(s) Username and Password**
* **Device Multi-Factor Authentication**
* **Device Hostname**
* **Device Access and Security Policy**

**Check Point Managed Services**

If you are subscribing to Check Point Managed Security Services (MSS), you will need to configure your device to connect to the Check Point Spark Management Portal (SMP). Use of the SMP is provided for all customers, but is a requirement for customers subscribing to Check Point MSS.
