Introduction {#Introduction}
----------------------------

The Scalable Platforms AutoUpdate package delivers rapid solutions for known issues. This package applies fixes automatically, eliminating the need for manual intervention until the release of the Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator. By ensuring efficient and seamless update management, the AutoUpdate package minimizes downtime and enhances system reliability.

The Scalable Platforms AutoUpdate package is installed automatically on all relevant Check Point devices when Automatic Update downloads are enabled (see [sk175504](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk175504), section 2-B).

If Automatic Updates are disabled, you must first manually install the latest [AutoUpdater](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk165653) Take and then install the Scalable Platforms AutoUpdate package manually using the steps below.

### Instructions: {#Toggle_1}

1. Download the latest TAR file from the "Availability" table (see below) to the Security Group Member that serves as the Single Management Object.

2. Run the following command in the Expert mode to copy the TAR file to all Security Group Members:
   `#asg_cp2blades -b all <full path to the .tar file>`

3. Run this command in the Expert mode on each Security Group member:
   `# g_all autoupdatercli install <full path to the .tar file>`

4. Examine the log file `/opt/CPInstLog/AutoUpdateLogs/sp_au/` to confirm successful installation. Look for the following lines:

   ```
   HH:MM:SS>% :  Script /var/log/AutoUpdater/metadata/ScalablePlatformAutoUpdate/sp_au/sp_AutoUpdate/14/product_scripts/sp_au_post_verify_action.sh output:
   [INFO] - verification ended successfully
   <HH:MM:SS>% :  Installation succeeded for component sp_au
   <HH:MM:SS>% :  ----------------------------------------------------------------------
   ```

5. To uninstall, run the following command in the Expert mode:

   `# g_all autoupdatercli revert-completely sp_au `

   To confirm successful uninstallation, examine the `/opt/CPInstLog/AutoUpdateLogs/sp_au/` log file and look for these lines:

   ```
   [SUCCESS] - Finish running sp_au_unregister.sh
   <HH:MM:SS>% :  Revert succeeded for component sp_au
   <HH:MM:SS>% :  ----------------------------------------------------------------------
   ```

### **Notes**:

* The installation does **not** require stopping or restarting processes (`cpstop; cpstart`) or a system reboot.
* The update applies immediately after installation. No further action is required.

| PMTR-112760 | Enhancement: Added support for cases where database configuration fails to sync with the Single Management Object, triggering a reboot loop and a pnote. To prevent synchronization issues, an infrastructure update allows adding the `/config/active` database configurations to an exclusion list, preserving local settings. The list is stored in the `/etc/keep_local_bindings_list.user` file. **Note**: Modify this setting only after consulting with Check Point Support. |
