# sk183094 - The Gaia gClish command "set interface <interface> rx-ringsize" does not work for backplane interfaces BPEth0 and BPEth1

## Symptoms

- * The Gaia gClish command "`set interface <Name of Interface> rx-ringsize <Value>`" does not work for backplane interfaces BPEth0 and BPEth1.

* The Gaia gClish command "`set interface <Name of Interface> tx-ringsize <Value>`" does not work for backplane interfaces BPEth0 and BPEth1.

* When you run these commands, one of these issues occurs:

  * The command fails with the error "`NMSETH0049`".

    Example:

    `
    [Global] MyChassis-ch01-01> set interface BPEth0 rx-ringsize 4096`  
    `
    NMSETH0049 Interface BPEth0 is not supported for this command`  
    `
    set interface BPEth0 rx-ringsize 4096`  
    `
    ---------------------^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^`  
    `
    [Global] MyChassis-ch01-01>
    `


  * The command is accepted, but the ring buffer size value does not change - as confirmed with the "`set interface BPEth0 rx-ringsize`" command.

## Cause

This behavior is by design for Backplane interfaces in Scalable Platforms R81 and higher versions.
