## Solution

External Risk Management (ERM) allows you to configure how long a user session stays active before it automatically terminates due to inactivity. Setting the session timeout balances user convenience and security, especially in shared or public environments.

**To configure session timeout:**

1. Login to the External Risk Management Administrator portal.
2. Go to **Account Settings** \> **General** .

4. Select the required session timeout duration from the dropdown list.
   * 15 minutes
   * 30 minutes
   * 1 hour
   * 1.5 hours
   * 3 hours
   * 6 hours
   * 12 hours

   **Note** - By default, the timeout is set to one hour. For example, if a user remains inactive for one hour, the system automatically terminates the session.
5. Click **Save**.
