| Property | Value |
|----------|-------|
| Solution ID | sk183009 |
| Date Created | 2025-01-13 |
| Last Modified | 2025-06-23 |
| Technical Level | General |

## Symptoms

- * RAD queries fail, generating "wrong status code in reply" errors logged in $FWDIR/log/rad_events/Error/.
* The HTTP status code returned is 414 (Request-URI Too Long), indicating the request URI exceeds server limits.
* Specific resources may exhibit slow loading times or become inaccessible.

## Cause

The default HTTP server request URI length is limited to 4096 characters. This issue occurs when a RAD query generates a URI exceeding this limit, resulting in the server returning a 414 error.

After installing the hotfix, the Security Gateway will no longer send requests for resources that exceed the defined limit. Connection handling for these resources will then be based on the configured 'Fail-Open/Fail-Closed' settings.
