# sk182922 - "The device hardware sensor indicates the VBAT reading is out of normal bound" alert on 3100/3200 appliances

## Symptoms

- An alert is received in the appliance CLI/WebUI:  
`
Proactive Support SR - HW Sensor out of bound on device name- <appliance name>.`  
`
The device hardware sensor indicates the VBAT reading is out of normal bound.`  
`
Reading: 2.61 Volt`  
`
Valid range: 2.85-3.46 Volt`

## Cause

An alert with a value higher than 2.5 Volt is a false positive.

## Solution

[Contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.

The minimum voltage of VBAT3 is set to 2.5 for the 3100 and 3200 Appliances.  

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.  
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:

1. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Management Server involved in the case.
2. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member involved in the case.
