# sk182867 - Different interfaces on the Security Gateway are named ethX_rename

## Symptoms

- * One or more interfaces on the Security Gateway are named "ethX_rename".

* The interfaces with this issue can change on each reboot.

* The issue can result in bond interfaces not coming up where the interfaces are used as slaves and/or traffic interrupts after a reboot.

## Cause

Multiple *00-\*.rules* files exist in */etc/udev/rules/*. This can occur after restoring a backup from a different appliance model. For example:
