# sk182812 - Identity Agent Installation Error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected"

## Symptoms

- * The Identity Agent installation process stops midway and displays the following error message: `There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.`
* Diagnostic Log Details:

  The installation log file located at `"%temp%\MSIxxx.log` contains the following indicative snippet:
  > `Substituion in 'C:\Program Files(x86)\CheckPoint\Identity Agent\setup.dll' folder had been blocked by 1 mask argument (the folder pairs' iSwapAttrib member=0).`
* Navigate to `C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Identity Agent\setup.dll`. Right-click the file and select **Properties** from the context menu. In the Properties window, go to the **Digital Signatures** tab. Select **Check Point Software Technologies** from the Signature list, then click **Details** . The following error messages appear in **Digital Signature Information** : `
  > One of the countersignatures is invalid. The file may have been altered.
  > The timestamp signature and/or certificate could not be verified or is malformed.`
* This issue is observed with Identity Agent installer versions 81.070 or higher.

## Cause

A security update introduced in version 81.070 requires certificate validation.
