# sk182645 - "License violation: You have exceeded the number of allowed devices in your license" alert in the Infinity Portal

## Symptoms

- * When adding a contract to the customer, a limit of units was set.
* The following warning appears when you open the "Services \& Contracts" view in the Infinity Portal: "License violation: You have exceeded the number of allowed devices in your license. Please contact your account manager to extend your license. If you already have a new license generated for you, please go to Global Settings Contracts Associated Accounts and sync the relevant account."

## Cause

When setting a limit of units for a given contract, an alert is generated when this limit is reached.   
The limit is not enforced, and you can add more users/seats; however, this warning appears.
