# sk182609 - Non-existing endpoint policy is applied to endpoint users

## Symptoms

- * Unknown endpoint policy is applied to endpoint users.

* The applied policy does not exist in the SmartEndpoint GUI, or in the Endpoint Web Management Portal.

## Cause

In the reported case, the problematic policy was created in the Endpoint Web Management Portal, and later removed in the SmartEndpoint GUI. The Endpoint Management Server did not remove this policy from the database correctly. This created a mismatch in the database and resulted in applying an incorrect policy the users.
