# sk182564 - Hotfix package installed by the CPUSE Deployment Agent Build 2429 might be overridden by a Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator or another Hotfix package

## Symptoms

- Hotfix / Jumbo Hotfix package installed by the CPUSE Deployment Agent Build 2429 might be overridden without a warning by another Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator / Hotfix package:

1. The current CPUSE Deployment Agent (DA) is Build 2429
2. Using this CPUSE DA, an administrator installed a "first" Hotfix / Jumbo Hotfix package to resolve a specific issue
3. Using this CPUSE DA, an administrator installed another ("second") Hotfix / Jumbo Hotfix package
4. The original issue occurs again (that "first" Hotfix / Jumbo Hotfix package fixed)

## Cause

**Background:**

Different hotfix packages may contain fixes in the same file, but in different lines of the code.

Therefore, it is crucial to make sure the subsequently installed Hotfix packages contain all the fixes from the previously installed Hotfix packages.

When the CPUSE Deployment Agent installs a Hotfix package, it saves the IDs of the integrated fixes in the file called `crs.xml` on the disk.

Before the CPUSE Deployment Agent installs another (subsequent) Hotfix package, it examines the list of the fix IDs provided in this subsequent Hotfix package and searches for these IDs in the `crs.xml` file.

If the subsequent Hotfix package does not contain all the fix IDs recorded in the `crs.xml` file, the CPUSE Deployment Agent refuses to install this Hotfix package (and shows the missing fix IDs).

**Cause of the Issue:**

The CPUSE Deployment Agent 2429 (released on 18 June 2024) does not save the fix IDs provided in Hotfix packages in the `crs.xml` file.

When the CPUSE Deployment Agent starts the installation of the subsequent Hotfix packages, it cannot verify they contain all the fix IDs from the previously installed Hotfix packages. Therefore, it continues to install the subsequent Hotfix packages.

The subsequent Hotfix packages may override the files that contain the required fix for one issue with the files that only contain the required fix for another issue.

As a result, the original issue may occur again.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting from:

* **[CPUSE Deployment Agent](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92449) starting from Build 2443** (released on 22 July 2024)

**Important Note:**

1. You installed the CPUSE Deployment Agent Build 2429.
2. You installed a Hotfix package / Jumbo Hotfix Take with the CPUSE Deployment Agent 2429.  
   The fix IDs from this Hotfix package were not recorded in the *crs.xml* file.
3. You installed the CPUSE Deployment Agent Build 2443.
4. The improved CPUSE Deployment Agent will fail the installation of another Hotfix package / Jumbo Hotfix Take.  
   This is on purpose to alert you that the fix IDs were not recorded from a Hotfix package / Jumbo Hotfix Take that you installed with CPUSE Deployment Agent Build 2429.  
   To resolve this issue, [contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) (requires manual editing of some files).
