# sk182406 - "Certificate was issued X time in the future" alert in Gaia Portal on a Maestro Orchestrator

## Symptoms

- * In Gaia Portal on a Maestro Orchestrator, in the **Authentication** window, a remote Orchestrator appears with the alert "`Certificate was issued X time in the future`".

* General communication issues between Maestro Orchestrators.

## Cause

Maestro Orchestrators generate a certificate that is valid for 1 year from its issue date. The issue date is determined by each Orchestrator's system time.

If Orchestrators have different system times, it may cause a remote Orchestrator's certificate to be issued with a time that is ahead of the local Orchestrator's system time. This causes the local Orchestrator to consider the certificate invalid.
