# sk182399 - FTP data connection fails when QoS is enabled

## Symptoms

- * FTP data connection fails when QoS is enabled.
* No drops are seen related to the connection.
* QoS rulebase configuration does not affect the problem.
* Output of `fw monitor -p all` shows the SYN packet of the data connection not passing after the `SecureXL QOS outbound (sxl_qos_outbound)` chain.

## Cause

QoS is not configured correctly on the interface.  
The outbound bandwidth is not selected. Therefore, the rate becomes '**0** '.
