## Symptoms

- * When running the command `restart bgp` in Clish, the BGP protocol takes several minutes to respond. No routes are shown and the network communication is down.

* When adding a new interface, the BGP routes appear again after a short time.

## Cause

The Graceful Restart mechanism is recommended for use in cluster environments, and not for use in stand-alone appliances.
