# sk182297 - DHCP server on ClusterXL Active member does not assign IP addresses

## Symptoms

- * DHCP server on ClusterXL Active member does not assign IP addresses, and changes to */etc/dhcpd.conf* file do not survive reboot.

* After a failover to the other Cluster member, the DHCP server starts to assign IP addresses.

* The problematic cluster shows an extra line in the */etc/dhcpd.conf* file: `dhcpd.private: host: <Host name> existing`, which does not exist in the other member.

## Cause

There is inconsistency in the */etc/dhcpd.conf* file between the primary and secondary ClusterXL members.
