## Symptoms

- "`Failed to go to requested rule`" error when using the "`Where Used`" option in SmartConsole and deleting an Access Control rule.

Steps that demonstrate the issue:

1. In the Object Explorer, right-click an object that is used in an Access Control Policy and click "**Where Used**".
2. In the "**Where Used** " window, double-click a rule or right-click a rule and click "**View in policy**".
3. Right-click on the selected rule and click "**Delete**".
4. Change the view:
   1. For example, click the **NAT** view in the **Access Control** section.
   2. Click the **Policy** view again in the **Access Control** section.
5. This error appears:
`Failed to go to requested rule`
   `Details`
   `Rule <Rule UID> could not be found.`
`The rule representation in the database does not exist.`

## Cause

The "View in Policy" (or "Go to Rule") feature "remembers" the rule that you opened from the "Where Used" window and performs a query for this rule, although it was deleted.
