# sk182229 - Policy installation fails on Spark Firewalls managed by SmartProvisioning

## Symptoms

- * Policy installation fails to load on Quantum Spark appliances.

* *$FWDIR/state/__tmp*on the appliance is updated with the policy but it does not load.

* *fw -d fetchlocal -d /opt/state/__tmp/FW1/* shows a similar error:

  [19 Mar 10:38:37] sfw_load: Error loading security policy
  ```

## Cause

Snort Protections are not supported on Quantum Spark Appliances.

## Solution

**To remove Snort Protections:**

1. Open SmartConsole and navigate to **Security Policy** \> **Threat Prevention**.

2. Select **IPS Protections**.

3. Go to **Actions** \> **Snort Protections** \> **Delete all Snort Protections**.

4. After you remove Snort Protections, fetch policy or install policy on the appliance.
