## Symptoms

- * Users cannot log in to an Endpoint Security Client using a password that contains one or more characters with diacritical marks (Examples: e? / a? / a?).
* A RADIUS server is configured to authenticate the user's password for the Remote Access VPN Gateway.
* On the CLI of the Remote Access VPN Gateway, output of IKE daemon debug (`vpn iked`) shows these error messages:

  ```
  CPSC_RADIUS_ACCESS_DENIED
  Access Denied - wrong user name or password
  ```

* On the CLI of the RADIUS server, output of `tcpdump` shows `Access-Reject`.

## Cause

Starting from E80.60, the Remote Access VPN Gateway sends characters to the RADIUS server in UTF8 format. If the RADIUS server does not support UTF8, it cannot parse the characters with diacritical marks.
