# sk182094 - Harmony Mobile Connector unable to validate certificate

## Symptoms

- This error appears in Harmony Mobile Connector logs: "Unable to find valid certification path to requested target" AKA issue with SSL handshake (javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException)

## Cause

You can configure Harmony Mobile Connector (HMC) with different services (such as UEM, SMTP, Syslog and more). These services can be configured with a certificate issued by a public CA or a self-signed certificate. This certificate was not configured on the Connector machine truststore.
