# sk182069 - Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) Doesn't Enforce IOCs Based on SHA1 or SHA256

## Symptoms

- When importing Threat Indicator files through SmartConsole and configuring the Custom Threat Prevention policy, Threat Indicator is not enforced by MTA. As a consequence, some files may not get blocked during the inspection.

## Cause

Currently, there is **no support for SHA1 and SHA256 Indicators** of Compromise (IOCs) within the system.  
To ensure proper functionality, refrain from adding SHA1/SHA256 IOCs and **instead utilize MD5 hashes or URLs** when creating new indicators.

## Solution

[Contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.

**Note:** This fix is for the **MD5 hash indicators in the IOC file**which are not working in Mail Transfer Agent (MTA).  
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.  
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:

1. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Management Server involved in the case.
2. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member involved in the case.
