# sk182068 - "IPSec VPN" page in Security Gateway object still shows a selected VPN Community, although the configuration changes were discarded

## Symptoms

- The **IPSec VPN** page in Security Gateway object still shows a selected VPN Community, although the configuration changes were discarded in this scenario:

1. Create a new VPN community object for Site to Site VPN (Star or Mesh):
   1. On the **Gateways** page:
      1. In the **Link Selection Mode** section, select **Enhanced (Recommended)**
      2. In the **Center Gateways** section, do not add any objects
   2. Click **OK**.
2. Open a Security Gateway object.
3. On the **Enhanced Link Selection** page \> **Interfaces** section, do not configure any interfaces.
4. Click the **IPSec VPN** page.
5. Add the VPN community created in Step 1.
6. Click **OK**.
7. Click **OK** in the warning "`Default Enhanced Link Selection interface are missing for the Participant VPN peer '<Name of Security Gateway object>'`".
8. Click **OK** in the warning "`The current changes to object "<Name of Security Gateway object>" are invalid and therefore will be discarded`".
9. Open the Security Gateway object again.
10. Click the **IPSec VPN** page.
11. This page still shows the VPN community created in Step 1 and added in Step 5.

## Cause

SmartConsole keeps the discarded changes in a cache.
