# sk182020 - Updatable object shows gray bar ("-") for all cloud services in SmartConsole

| Property | Value |
|----------|-------|
| Solution ID | sk182020 |
| Date Created | 2024-03-04 |
| Last Modified | 2024-03-11 |
| Technical Level | Advanced |
| Products | SmartConsole |
| Versions | R81.20, R81.10 (EOS), R81 (EOS) |
| OS | Windows, Gaia |

## Symptoms

- * In SmartConsole, updatable objects display "-" bar for cloud services instead of the actual icon.
* The SmartConsole computer has Firefox set as the default browser in Windows settings. This issue does not show with Chrome, IE, or Edge. Even if proxy is used, these browsers synchronize with the local proxy setting of the Windows computer.
* The SmartConsole computer has connectivity with the Security Management Server but does not have direct internet connectivity.
* All icon files for cloud services are seen as "blank page" with file size as 0KB at the location *"%localappdata%\\Check Point\\SmartConsole\\R81\\Resources\\applications\\"*.

## Cause

SmartConsole has an internal code that reaches out to <http://secureupdates.checkpoint.com/appi/v1_0_0/icons/> to fetch the icon files in updatable objects.
This code does not rely on nor use any web browser to reach out to this URL over internet.
As a result, the Windows setting for a default browser is irrelevant, and the computer with the SmartConsole should have internet connectivity.
Firefox proxy settings are independent for internet connectivity. The same proxy is not set in Windows proxy settings in the system settings.
