# sk181896 - Log file generated by the CPInfo utility is significantly larger than expected

## Symptoms

- The CPInfo utility generates log files that are significantly larger than expected. The size of the log files constantly increases.

## Cause

Some log files are not configured for log rotation, or contain configurations that do not align with user requirements.  

The CPInfo Utility (see [sk92739](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739)) incorporates these log files, increasing the overall file size.

## Solution

1. Find the sizable log files:  
   Refer to [sk60080 - Disk space tips and tricks for SecurePlatform / Gaia](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk60080) for information on how to identify logs possibly contributing to disk space issues and increasing the CPInfo's size.  

2. Add rotation settings to the applicable log files:  
   Refer to [sk113241 - How to configure Gaia OS to rotate a custom log file](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk113241).  

3. The log files most likely to increase in size are:
   *
     * *mq_mng.elg*
     * *httpd_access_log*
     * *httpd2_access_log*
     * *httpd2_error_log*
     * *routed.log*
4. CPinfo collect an unnecessary proc file ****/proc/ppk/performance****

   This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting from:
